Halloween Pictures!

We had a great Halloween. We went into Franklin to help Aunt Ruth hand out candy to trick or treaters and the kids loved it!!!

Daddy and Bekah going to the first house...

Aunt Ruth, Blake and I stayed back to answer the door for trick or treaters.

When Bekah came back from trick or treating, she couldn't wait to sit down and go through her loot! Of course, Blake had to get in on the action too. Don't worry, I didn't actually let him eat the sucker!

Before Halloween: Bekah helped carve the pumpkin by drawing the cutouts she wanted. Of course, we didn't actually USE what she drew because it would have destroyed the pumpkin...

After Halloween: Bekah hasn't gone a day since without dressing up. Here, she is the ever-famous dragon with roping gloves and pink camo thermal pants. Scary!

Legan Kid Updates

“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.” - Forest Witcraft

Although I don't have any new pictures to post now, I thought I would send out an update that Blake started crawling on Oct. 10. It's a modified army crawl but he's really getting around great now. And he has the scuffs on his knees and elbows to prove it!! As Bekah has gotten older, we have been able to adjust the child safety devices around our house. Now they will be everywhere.

Now that he's gotten bigger, Blake and Bekah take their baths together. Bekah is still a little jealous when Blake goes for her toys but she's beginning to deal with it a lot better.

Pictures to come soon...

Marlboro Ranch Trip

We got back yesterday from the trip of a lifetime!!! We had a great time and I just wanted to post a few key pictures to give you all a "teaser" - I will post more about it later. They kept us busy and extremely well-fed the whole time we were there.

We leave in 7 days!

Most of you already know that Matt won a trip for 4 days/3 nights to the Crazy Horse Ranch in Montana. He won this over 2 years ago and we finally leave next Tuesday morning. I'm nervous as heck about leaving the kids but I know deep down they'll be fine. I'm so excited for our trip (obviously because I should be working instead of making this post!). We received our check to cover the taxes on the trip and our plane tickets last Friday. Expecting our luggage to come any day now, which should look like this (one for each of us!):

They have many activities arranged for us, including (but not limited to!) a cattle drive, a zip line run soaring 150 feet over a mountain creek!, fly fishing, sporting clays, off-roading in Humvees! and a Backcountry tour in a 4x4 truck with a chuckwagon lunch along the way!. Wow...

Here's a link about the trip:

Happy Anniversary!

Today Matt and I celebrate 7 yrs of wedded bliss. Can't believe its only already been 7 years!
Happy Anniversary Matt! You're the best daddy, husband ever. I love you.

Just some cute random pictures...

Blake is getting so big so fast! He rolls anywhere he wants to go, because he can spin on his belly and just keep rolling to get anywhere. Bekah is talking up a storm - she's such a little mimic. I'm glad they're getting to the age where they can almost play together. Here's some cute pictures I thought I would share:

I know I haven't posted for a while and I'm sorry about that. I FINALLY downloaded a bunch of pictures off of my digital camera yesterday and I'm ready to share! Here's some super cute pictures from our trip to the Children's Museum just before Bekah's birthday:

Bekah's 2nd Birthday

On Sunday afternoon, we had a gathering to celebrate Bekah's 2nd Birthday. We couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather! Great family, friends, games, food... all a kid could ask for on her birthday! I'll have to post pictures of the pinata action later, they're on a different camera. The pinata was a lot of fun, definitely a tradition we're likely to continue!!

At the end of the evening, Blake was one pooped little guy!!!

Bekah reading one of her new books!

After supper, pinata and cake... she's already looking worn out!

The birthday girl's cake!

Bounce house fun...

Also, someone gave her a Barbie Thumbelina purse, necklace and earring set - but apparently someone got it out of the bag before we did - can anyone claim this cute gift? And an "Under the Sea" book?

Blake Update

I'm sorry I haven't updated the blog in quite a while. There's a lot to share!

Only a week after rolling over from tummy to back, Blake rolled over from back to tummy (on June 21st). He's been a roly poly boy ever since! We started him on solids last Tuesday (July 21) and it took him a few days to get used to the idea. On Saturday, July 25th, he ate his entire bowl of cereal so it looks like feeding him solids will need to be added to our daily routine. Now if we could only get him to sleep without nursing... At his 4-month appt on July 6th, he weighed in at 16 lbs 7 ozs, putting him in the 80th percentile for both height and weight. A big boy!

On a personal note, I've recently been promoted to Plant Controller! This means lots more responsibility and work-load for me but its quite an honor. I'll be the youngest Controller in North America, and I'll have lots of hurdles to overcome.

Bekah will be two on Wednesday. I can't believe it... We had a big party for her on Sunday afternoon. A beautiful day with lots of family and friends - I couldn't have asked for anything more satisfying. I'll post more on that later...

The Undefeatable has been Defeated!

Just wanted to update everyone that Matt's mad basketball skills have finally been defeated! Matt stopped by to Duffy's on Friday night and they decided to play a little one-on-one basketball. Ultimately a bad decision on Matt's part because Duffy opened up a can on him!

But apparently, according to Matt, Duffy cheats...

Blake is Rolling Over!

I haven't been able to get the pictures off of my camera yet but I just wanted to let everyone know that Blake is now rolling over, both directions!!! On June 14, he rolled over from his tummy to his back. And on Father's Day (while he was having some one-on-one time with Daddy!), he rolled over from back to tummy for Matt! He's a big boy - haven't weighed him in a while but he's got to be nearing 16 lbs. We'll be starting him on solids soon!

Bekah is as entertaining as ever. We painted her toenails for the first time on June 14, she loved it!

Wilstem Ranch

Over Memorial Day weekend, we went camping with some of the Legan family at Wilstem Ranch. Well, it wasn't really "camping" because we actually stayed in a pretty nice cabin. It was a wonderful getaway. My sister-in-law was wonderful, as she watched the kids on Saturday and Sunday so I could get some riding in. Bekah got several opportunities to ride with both Daddy and cousin Beth. A nice relaxing weekend...
Thanks Mark & Phyllis!

Of course, although Wilstem Ranch was nice, it wasn't as nice as good ole' Rawhide Ranch!!!

Bekah has Quit her Pacifier!

Yesterday, I decided it was time to start weaning Bekah off the pacifier. I had read that a good way to do it was to cut a little bit off the tip each time until it no longer soothed the child. So yesterday, I just cut a little bit off the tip of her pacifier before naptime. When I gave it to her, she looked at me and said "Paci Broke? Trash!" and ran and threw it in the trash can. She did this twice. Naptime was a little rough because it was so new. But by night time, she knew that she had thrown her beloved "paci" away (she did the same thing when I offered her another pacifier with a cut tip before bedtime) and only cried for a short little bit.
She's growing up!

She also got an early birthday present on Friday.

We bounced and bounced all weekend and even had the neighbors come over and bounce too. I think this will be a good investment, especially when Blake is old enough to bounce too!
