Bekah Quotes de Jour

I thought I would document some funny Bekah quotes:

This past Saturday morning, we went to pick berries at Zink Berry Farm in Morgantown. Great little place with organic berries and farm animals. Right before we left, here's what transpired:
Bekah: "Daddy, do you want to go pick berries wis us?"
Matt: "No, honey, I've got to go to work."
Bekah: "Why you got to work Daddy?"
Matt: "So I can make money so you can have clothes to wear, food to eat and a nice house to live in."
Bekah: "Are you going to build me a nice house Daddy?"

On Friday evening, Charlene brought over a turtle that she found on the side of the road. We wanted to show it to the kids. Of course, fearless Blake had no worries and wanted to go right over to it, probably to try to eat it. Bekah, on the other hand, clung to my side, scared to death of the flailing turtle that MawMaw was holding.
Bekah: "Mommy!! Hold me!! I don't like it!!"
Charlene: "Bekah, are you a sissie girl?"
Bekah: "I not a sissie girl!!! I'm a scared girl!!"

Oh the entertainment she provides!!

Much Overdue Update

The kids have grown so much since the last update. Blake has turned a year and now has six teeth. Bekah will be THREE!!! this summer and I can't even begin to think. Time has flown by so fast. Blake is starting to walk now, taking his first couple steps on Mom's birthday last week. He's still pretty cautious and realizes he can get places much quicker when he crawls but with a little encouragement, he'll be running around in no time at all I'm sure.

Bekah controlling her brother. "No Blake! It's time to take a bath!"

Riding around the yard in the wagon!

Blake's first word was "dog" and he loves nothing more than to chase Hank, Harley and Heidi around everywhere. They don't feel the same....

Bekah's first solo pony ride at The Whittens - thanks!

Halloween Pictures!

We had a great Halloween. We went into Franklin to help Aunt Ruth hand out candy to trick or treaters and the kids loved it!!!

Daddy and Bekah going to the first house...

Aunt Ruth, Blake and I stayed back to answer the door for trick or treaters.

When Bekah came back from trick or treating, she couldn't wait to sit down and go through her loot! Of course, Blake had to get in on the action too. Don't worry, I didn't actually let him eat the sucker!

Before Halloween: Bekah helped carve the pumpkin by drawing the cutouts she wanted. Of course, we didn't actually USE what she drew because it would have destroyed the pumpkin...

After Halloween: Bekah hasn't gone a day since without dressing up. Here, she is the ever-famous dragon with roping gloves and pink camo thermal pants. Scary!

Legan Kid Updates

“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.” - Forest Witcraft

Although I don't have any new pictures to post now, I thought I would send out an update that Blake started crawling on Oct. 10. It's a modified army crawl but he's really getting around great now. And he has the scuffs on his knees and elbows to prove it!! As Bekah has gotten older, we have been able to adjust the child safety devices around our house. Now they will be everywhere.

Now that he's gotten bigger, Blake and Bekah take their baths together. Bekah is still a little jealous when Blake goes for her toys but she's beginning to deal with it a lot better.

Pictures to come soon...
